You can help the University of Tasmania solve the puzzle while you study.

 - Are you 50-79 years of age and in good health, with no history of neurological disease or prior brain injury?

-  Are you keen to study at the University of Tasmania?

-  Are you interested in taking part in a study that will annually assess your cognitive functions (e.g. memory)?

Choose what subject you are interested in, apply to University of Tasmania (UTAS) and you may qualify for a unit of study with a scholarship to cover the HECS costs for one unit (conditions apply). If you fulfil the eligibility criteria and enrol at UTAS in 2011 you will also receive a free annual comprehensive assessment (and feedback) of your cognitive functions.

Professor James Vickers and his team at the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre, of the Menzies Research Institute Tasmania, in conjunction with UTAS, are undertaking this world-first study on the potential for tertiary education later in life to boost brain plasticity and protect against ageing-related cognitive decline.
